We did it!

Over the summer we dug deep (into the archives) because of a project to change our IRS designation from Private Foundation to Public Charity…and we were just notified that our application was successful.

Why does it matter? As a supporter, it doesn’t really change anything for you but it does allow us to better explain who we are and what we do here in our center. We’ve always been able to demonstrate how our work is a force multiplier for nonprofits in the community and that we’re able to be more to the sector than just our footprint in Frederick but this designation also makes it easier for us to talk to funders and donors about our financial transparency…and that’s important to us.

One of the side benefits of the project was the “look back” into our records and see how much support we’ve received from the community over the last several years and for that we are grateful…and it’s why we thank you for your continued support to our organization.
